Susan De Castro

Susan De Castro is a New York-based artist and Assistant Professor at Touro University, specializing in painting, drawing, and digital graphic design. She holds a BFA from the Tyler School of Art/Temple University and an MA from New York University. Susan has participated in artist-in-residence programs in Italy and Brazil. She continues her artistic growth by studying under accomplished painters at the Art Students League of New York. Susan has exhibited her work in numerous group shows and has been recognized with awards such as the Merit Scholarship and Red and Blue Dot awards from the Art Students League of New York. She is also a proud member of the National Association of Women's Artists. 

Susan's artistic passion lies in the realm of color. She draws inspiration from nature, finding joy in vibrant hues and exploring their interactions in her paintings. Her compositions emphasize the relationships between form and color, with subjects ranging from portraits and still life to landscapes and figure studies. Susan relishes the aesthetic challenges that each canvas presents and views the act of painting as a remarkable adventure and a cherished gift.
