Titus Kana

Titus Kana grew up in Bellport, Long Island in the 50s and 60s and was inspired by Ansel Adams, as well as his grandfather, Herb Austin and father, Milan Kana, both aspiring photographers. He took up photography at Bellport High School predominantly shooting landscapes and seascapes locally and in Fire Island. Titus began his professional career as a fashion and beauty photographer in NYC in 1981. He developed extensive knowledge and became a top expert in digital imaging. With his interest in fine art landscapes and seascapes he established a reputation for painterly images of Fire Island utilizing a technique that combines infrared photography with colorization. More recently, he has added HDR imaging to his technique which combines multiple images into one with an extended dynamic range via tone mapping. Titus has exhibited at the Long Island Maritime Museum, the Fire Island Lighthouse, the Phoenix Gallery in Bellport, the Patchogue Walking Arts Tour, Artists at Waterside, Sayville Summerfest, Davis Park Art Show, the Congregational Church of Patchogue, WH Design in Patchogue and Woodstock Art Fairs. Titus is the founder and chairman emeritus of the Patchogue Arts Council Photographers Group.
